Why do ears need care and how does a hearing system help?

Have you ever wondered why the ear produces wax at all? Cerumen, as earwax is known medically, is not dirt. Rather, it is a natural protective barrier, comparable to a moisturizing cream for the delicate skin in the ear canal. It keeps dust out and acidifies the environment so bacteria stand no chance. Sometimes, however, too much builds up, muffling sound or clogging hearing systems.

Cleaning the ear canal properly

Why should you avoid cotton swabs? Imagine a narrow pipe: if you push a thick plug into it, you only push the debris deeper against the wall. That is exactly what happens in the ear. Instead, use a few drops of pure almond oil. The oil gently softens hardened deposits so they wash out naturally during your daily shower with lukewarm water. Stainless steel tools belong exclusively in careful hands and should only clean the outer ear, never the deep canal.

How modern hearing systems process sound

How does sound actually enter the ear? A hearing system works much like a miniature sound system. A microphone captures vibrations from the air. A small digital chip analyzes the signal, separates speech from background noise, and adjusts the volume to your individual needs. A housing made of durable ABS polymer protects this delicate electronics from impact. Through a soft earpiece made of medical-grade silicone, the amplified sound is ultimately guided directly in front of the eardrum without leaving pressure marks in the ear.
